Welcome to Pierce’s Cow Dogs
Hanging Tree Cow Dogs are known for their courage and ability to handle any kind of cattle, from weanlings to cow-calf pairs. These stock dogs are Catahoula leopard dog, border collie and Australian kelpie. They are short or slick-haired dogs with bob tails. To register one through the American cow dog association, you need a video of them hitting heads and heels of cattle. The short, slick-haired coat is also a requirement. Hanging Tree Cow dogs come in many different colors, from blacks and whites to merles or a unique blend of these colors.

Pierce’s Cow Dogs is located in Newberg, Oregon. Owner Marvin Pierce has been raising and training cow dogs since 1998.
Marvin Pierce started raising Hanging Tree Cow Dogs because they were the best dogs for what he does – team roping and cattle gathering.

Gathering Cattle
Marvin has done cow dog demonstrations for the Oregon state fair, the Yamhill county fair, and private parties. He also dog-breaks cattle and gives private lessons on working cow dogs. If you would like a cow dog demonstration be sure to contact us.
