Dog Obedience Instruction

Your Dog…Your House or Mine…Lessons That Make a Difference!

Dog on the furnitureDo you struggle with making your dog behave? Do you have trouble keeping him off the furniture, trying to stop him from dragging you on walks, embarrassed by him jumping on visitors or worse yet, growling or snapping at new people?

Are you frustrated by the fact that when you take your dog to a clinic or class for help with these and other matters your dog suddenly doesn’t display this behavior because he’s out of his home environment?

snarling dogIf this seems like you and your dog, Pierce’s Cow Dogs & Marvin Pierce have a solution for you – private dog obedience instruction.

It can be difficult to bring an ill-behaved dog to a clinic where you’re afraid their unwanted behavior will be disruptive to other participants and dogs. If your dog is overly aggressive you especially don’t want to jeopardize the welfare of other dogs in the clinic. Or, as is more commonly the case, your dog will be too nervous or scared to even display the unwanted behavior you’re trying to fix. And sometimes a clinic doesn’t provide for the right environmental setup to target a specific behavior that needs attention.

When a clinic just isn’t the best place to start your dog off, a private lesson or two could be all that it takes to get your dog to where you can bring him to a clinic or continue with his training on your own. A private lesson can help you target specific behaviors in the environment where they typically occur – your home! Or, doing a private lesson at Marvin’s ranch will allow your dog to be around other dogs and livestock and will help with issues associated with that kind of environment. The main purpose of a private lesson is it gives you one-on-one attention and targets specific behavior that needs modification. You’ll gain the tools to work with your dog to reinforce what’s learned in the private lesson. You’ll be on your way to having the kind of well-behaved dog you’ll be comfortable taking anywhere with you!
